While Cyberpunk 2077's release is once again delayed until November 19 of this year for some more bug fixing needs, the good news coming from its developer CD Projekt Red is that the game will be backwards compatible with the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles at launch which are also to happen later this year during holiday season. 

CD Projekt Red announced on Twitter, "We are happy to confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be backwards compatible with both next-gen consoles! Your PS4 copy of the game will work on PS5 on launch day. Anyone who buys the game on Xbox One will be able to play their copy on Xbox Series X when the console launches too!"

The game developer also confirmed that their will be a future update on the game that will fully take advantage of these next-gen gaming consoles hardware, and it will be available for free.
