Sony has finally revealed the official design of the PlayStation 5 and its accessories. Yes, there's a Digital Edition too. Read more here.
The reveal happened through its own trailer-like video clip which you can
watch below. While watching the livestream and this particular video clip, I
really thought it was just one of those ad-lib clips before moving on to the
next game trailer, because so far at this point, that what was going on,
trailer after trailer of upcoming games for the PS5 since the event began. But
then, it wasn't, it was the official trailer reveal of the PlayStation 5 and
its accessories such as the DualSense controller together with its charging
station, an HD camera, a Pulse 3D wireless headset, and a media remote
control.
And then the surprise did not stop there, we were also caught off guard with
the announcement of the Digital Edition of the PlayStation 5, as you can see
in the video above. This is the first time in the PS history that Sony, the
maker of the gaming console, is releasing two variants of the same model at
the same time, and definitely a first digital version of the gaming
machine.
So yes, there will be a Standard Edition and a Digital Edition. As you may
have already guessed, the former will still be equipped with optical drive
perfect for players who still prefer to have physical copy of their games and
play on the console, the latter, on the other hand, does not have disc player
and sport much thinner profile because of that, and players will get their
games in digital formats by downloading them to the console. We hope, the
Digital Edition is much more affordable than the other.
What do you guys think of this new Digital Edition variant?
Anyway, both of the models sport the same design in and out, except of course
for the optical drive part. Sony decided to go with two-tone color design
which is in black on the inner part the outside dominated by white panels.
Even the accessories' designs and colorways are all in harmony with the PS5's
aesthetics. I like the designs and the black and white finish.

Sony did not reveal official pricing for these next-gen PS5 consoles and
their exact availability dates. All that is known so far is that the new
PlayStation 5 lineup is still on track for this year's holiday season
despite of what has been going on in the world right now. That means we can
expect Sony to reveal the pricing as we get closer to the end of the year.
That said, we still have more than enough time to continue saving up for
this console.
