Cherry Mobile Quartz and Ruby Now Available

After the Cherry Mobile Amethyst was unveiled and released about a month ago, Cherry Mobile just made two of its new smartphones from the Gemstones series of smartphones of the Pinoy tech company. Cherry Mobile Quartz and Cherry Mobile Ruby are now official. looking at the poster above posted by Cherry Mobile on their Facebook page, we are still see three more "gemstones" devices. I really like the naming of these devices and calling them "Gemstones" and I am sure I am not the only one. Check out below what these new Android smartphones have to offer us users.

The Android 4.2 Jellybean-powered Cherry Mobile Quartz and Cherry Mobile Ruby both measured 4 inches across its screen and featuring 1GHz dual-core processors under the hoods. For some reason other key specs were not disclosed such as the RAM, screen resolution and battery size. Quartz is more affordable than the Ruby with price tags of only Php2,499 and Php2,899 respectively. Both are dual-SIM devices and support 3G and microSD card up to 32GB.

The differences I see between these two smartphones are, first Cherry Mobile Quartz comes in multiple colors while the Cherry Mobile Ruby only comes in one color selection. On Quartz the rear camera is pegged at 3MP, Ruby has 5 megapixels but front cameras are the same at 0.3MP. The Quartz has a default storage of 2GB only and the Ruby provides 4GB right out of the box. But then again, these are expandable which means you can purchase microSD card with size as big as 32GB or if you have an existing one from your current smartphone, you can use it on any of these ones.
