Alongside the new HONOR 80 GT smartphone, the brand also launched a new tablet called the HONOR Pad V8 Pro sporting an interesting 144Hz refresh rate. That is a lot higher refresh rate than most smartphones being offered today even from the flagship ones. While the higher the refresh rate is definitely the better, it is kind of interesting to know how users are going to take advantage of this awesome feature as there is no app or mobile game yet that reaches this high of a refresh rate. Future proofing maybe? We'll see.
Together with that refresh rate, the HONOR Pad V8 Pro sports a large 12.1-inch IPS LCD display that can go as bright as 600 nits. Also, this display sports 10-bit color, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and there is also an IMAX Enhanced certification which means this should be able to support video quality that uses the same standard. We usually find this particular feature on TVs, but now has made its way to the tablets. To top it all off, is 2560x1600 display resolution. On paper, this is a very nice tablet perfect for entertainment and productivity purposes.
Speaking of productivity, the tablet also support accessories such as HONOR's very own magnetic keyboard and stylus pen of its own. It's not that clear though if these accessories are sold separately or come bundled with the Pad V8 Pro.
Running the device is also a very powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor. It will be available in either 8GB or 12GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB internal storage. There is no microSD card support and LTE connectivity on sight though. And then for its camera, don't expect too much but it still packs quite decent 13MP rear and 5MP selfie cameras with autofocus and LED flash.
For a full multimedia immersion, the device is packed with eight powerful speakers with support for DTS:X surround sound. On the software side of the slate, is an Android 12 with Magic UI 7.0 on top.
And then keeping the lights on is a 10050mAh battery with 35W FastCharge support.
