Vivo X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro+ Series Goes Official

As previously announced, the new vivo X series of flagship smartphones has been officially launched in the Chinese market boasting upgraded and impressive specs, camera system, and design. Over its X80 Series predecessor, a lot has changed and been enhanced, most especially in the camera department and aesthetics of the phones.

In terms of specs and design, there are a lot of similarities between the three phones except for a few specs and features right out of the box. One big difference is found in the processor department, while the Pro Plus model has the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, these X90 and X90 Pro are both powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9200 and are paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage.

Now in the display, it's nice to know that none of these sports Full HD+ resolution anymore. vivo went all out on these three on this part of the specs sheet. The X90 and X90 Pro both have 6.78-inch QHD+ AMOLED displays, in resolution, that's about 2800 x 1260 pixel arrangements. X90 Pro+ has a much higher display resolution, more on this variant below.

Battery and fast chargers also differ on these two versus their most powerful sibling. The X90 has 4810mAh and 4870mAh on the X90 Pro. Both have a whopping 120W wired fast charging technology, but the X90 Pro has 50W wireless charging tech.

The camera offering is also what set the X90 and X90 Pro from the Pro+ sibling. Both have triple rear camera setup with two 50MP shooters with Sony IMX sensors and a third 12MP camera. The rear cameras have portrait and ultrawide lenses. On the front of the two is a 32MP selfie camera.

Highest-tiered among the three, and as the name suggests, is the vivo X90 Pro+. Dubbed the "King of One Inch Sensors" it is equipped with a massive 1-inch Sony IMX989 main camera with 50MP configuration. It is also one of the first flagship smartphones to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the same chip unveiled by Qualcomm a couple of weeks ago.

Starting with the display, the vivo X90 Pro Plus offers a gorgeous 6.78-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED display with 3200 x 1440 resolution. That is so sweet of a display. Making this even better is with the inclusion of 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and Dolby Vision technology.

Unlike its siblings in the X90 series, this Pro+ variant has four massive cameras on its back. Two 50MP cameras with 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor and IMX758, a 64MP periscope camera and a fourth one with 48MP Sony IMX589. There's telephoto, ultrawide, and portrait lenses in addition. On the front is a 32MP selfie camera.

As for its battery, it is equipped with 4700mAh capacity which supports 50W wireless and 80W wired fast charging. It also got a Qualcomm's 3D Sonic Max in-display fingerprint sensor and a face unlock.

As of posting, the Vivo X90 Series is currently exclusive in China. There is no word yet for its international release, including the Philippines. But knowing that previous X series were also launched in the local market, it is mostly just a matter of waiting before vivo X90 series makes it way to the international market.
