At last, the very very long wait is finally coming to and end as the much-awaited sequel to James Cameron's Avatar movie in 2009 is hitting Philippine cinemas this December. And as we approach the said release date, Disney's 20th Century Fox has just dropped a brand new trailer for the Avatar: The Way of Water installment.
It is a two-and-a-half minute long trailer and showcases brand new and stunning footage and scenes from the movie. There we see more of the Pandora most especially the aquatic animals that it has together with some new characters like the children of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) named Neteyam and Tuktirey. In addition to the son and daughter, a third one is also on the way when Neytifi was shown hunting and very pregnant.
We also see more Na'vi people either from the same tribe where Neytiri is from or another group of Na'vi people. But while Jake and Neytiri raise a family and train their children to hunt animals, it appears that the humans of the planet Earth is not done with them yet. A war is about to break once more between the humans and the Na'vi. More battle ships and coming and hopefully the inhabitants of Pandora has more and new advanced weapons to fight with.
Just like first Avatar movie in 2009, Avatar: The Way of Water is going to have gorgeous visuals, epic soundtracks and memorable battle scenes. So far the wait is worth it. I am hoping that The Way of Water will be able to deliver the same epicness the first film was able to and will make us want to wait for the rest of the sequels. If everything falls into its proper places and expected numbers are at least met (talking about box office success), we are going to see three more sequels (Avatar 3, 4, and 5) in the coming years.
Avatar: The Way of Water hits Philippine cinemas this December 14. And in case you have not heard yet, it is going to be a three hours and ten minutes long. So be ready and prepared before entering the cinema.
