I Just Got The OPPO Enco W11 Earbuds

Not one of the latest releases in the world of true wireless stereo (TWS) audio devices, but the OPPO Enco W11 is one of the most affordable and available wireless earbuds currently available on the market. This one here, for example, can still be purchased from OPPO Philippines' official Shopee store for only Php1,399. When it was originally made available late last year, it had an SRP of Php1,650.

Now let's take a look at this budget-friendly wireless earbuds from OPPO and see what it has in store for users who are looking to buy a nice-looking wireless earphones with good sound quality that won't break the bank. 

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

The boxing of the OPPO Enco W11 is pretty straightforward. Upfront you will see the image of the earbuds together with its official name right below it and the OPPO branding on the upper right corner of the front box. At the back of it, buyers can see the key features and specs of the OPPO Enco W11 such as Noise Reduction features during calls, Bluetooth 5.0 support, up to 20 hours of battery life, and IP55 Water and Dust Resistance feature. 

Lifting the upper box, will reveal the unit itself, all in white glossy color finish. There is a tiny plastic lid right below it to lift the carrying case with ease. 

And then right underneath the case's cradle, we can find the rest of the accessories and paperwork. This includes the Warranty  and Start Up Guide, USB Type C charging cable, and two pairs of extra ear tips in different sizes making sure it will be able to cater to various ear sizes. 

That's all there is in the packaging of OPPO Enco W11 wireless earbuds. For its asking price, it is a good thing to know that this audio device sports USB-C port for charging, which means, if your smartphone has the same USB-C port, you don't have to carry extra cable just to charge this device, your existing USB-C cord will definitely work on this one. That's actually a huge plus. Some wireless earbuds in this price range still come with microUSB cable. It does not have wireless charging though, but that's very unexpected for a Bluetooth earbuds with price less than Php1,500. 

DESIGN

The OPPO Enco W11 features a pill-shaped case design and a glossy finish which makes the device nice to the touch and nice to look at. Since it is in white color variant, the fingerprints and smudges are not visible on the surface, unlike those in glossy black colorway. The size of the device is very compact as well, meaning it's not going to take so much space in your pocket, bag or purse. 

As for the earbuds themselves, good news is they are not that big of a built as well. Though some users with quite small ears might find it a bit bulky. It features a somewhat pill-shaped design too with in-ear silicon tips which make it fits well in the ear canals. At 4.4grams, the OPPO Enco W11 earbuds are also very light. So light that most of the times I can hardly feel it there. And then one of the things I liked about its built is that it fits perfectly fine in my ears and they don't fall off easily or at all no matter how hard I tried to share my head in different directions. So if if you are someone who has active lifestyle, having this in your ears while you do your workout routine won't be problem. 

FEATURES

Like any other wireless earbuds out there, the OPPO Enco W11 also features touch controls on both earbuds allowing users to skip and pause a song or even go back to the previous track with a couple taps to them. In addition to that, these touch gestures can also be used to answer or end calls, which means that the earbuds have built-in microphones enabling again the users to take calls without flipping their phones out of their pocket. 

• Single tap = play or pause a song
• Double tap left earbud = play previous track
• Double tap right earbud = play next track
• Press and hold right earbud = increase volume
• Press and hold left earbud = decrease volume
• Double tap right or left earbud = answer or end call
• Triple tap left or right earbud = activate voice assistant 

I tried all of them myself as soon as I was done paring them up to my smartphone. And I am happy to report that they all work perfectly fine. 

Speaking of pairing this to a smartphone, it was actually very easy and simple. Just pop open the carrying case with the earbuds out of it, activate the Bluetooth feature on your smartphone and locate the OPPO Enco W11 device name, tap it can confirm pairing and that's it, you are good to go. I tried downloading OPPO's HeyMelody app from Google Play but for some reason I am unable to connect the Enco W11 through the app. But even without the app on my phone, I can still enjoy the OPPO Enco W11 while listening to my favorite songs, watching the series I currently follow on Netflix as well as playing games on my phone. 

PERFORMANCE

Now what about the performance? I would say that it's pretty good though. For it's price tag, I was actually hoping for a much lesser audio quality, but when I started playing some music, I was actually quite surprised about how nice it sounds. Listening to different songs, I can always hear a good amount of base and treble across the earbuds, sound distortion is hardly noticeable unless I dial the volume all the way up. Of course it is not one of the best though in terms of sound quality, but for its asking price, it's definitely quite a steal, especially knowing that it comes with a build-in microphone that actually works and its sleek design. 

One nice touch that OPPO added to this Enco W11 earbuds is that each bud receives the audio signal directly from the smartphone, and not only one of them then passes it to the other earbud. With this, it greatly improves the latency and clarity of the audio. 

How about the battery performance? OPPO claims its life to last up to 5 hours on a single charge for the earbuds, with the charging case included, that's a total of 20 hours. The earbuds are equipped with 40mAh each and while the case has 400mAh battery. Based on my usage so far, I am pretty sure that the OPPO Enco W11 can definitely deliver this promise. As for charging the case and earbuds, that's up to two hours from zero percent battery life. Also, a 15-minute change of the earbuds can power up to 1 hour of music playback according to OPPO. 

And oh, I almost forgot to mention, it boasts IP55 Water and Dust Resistance right out of the box. And what that means is that, it's good as a workout companion. The OPPO Enco W11 will still continue to work even if you sweat a lot during exercise, workout, or even if you get caught in the rain. Getting the OPPO Enco W11 broken because of water damage will be the last thing you will worry about. 

VERDICT

This OPPO Enco W11 is a definitely a good choice for those users who are looking for a super budget-friendly TWS earphones that sports not just sleek design but also good sound quality, long lasting battery life and not to mention IP55 water and dust resistance. It's also lightweight and comfortable to the ears, so having this on for longer hours is not going to be an issue both for listening and wearing experience.
