ASUS has officially launched its brand new gaming-centric ROG Phone 3. Read more here.
In the world of mobile gaming, ASUS ROG phone is definitely one of those
smartphone brands that no need introduction anymore. Since they released the
very
first ASUS ROG Phone
a couple of years back, it quickly became so popular among mobile gaming
enthusiasts not just in the Philippines but also around the globe. So
when we hear the name ASUS ROG Phone, we know what we are getting out of it
especially to those who have tried the first two installations.
Today, ASUS is launching third iteration of the popular gaming device simply
calling it the ASUS ROG Phone 3. Just like the previous models, this latest
one also comes with its own set of accessories to help players level up their
mobile gaming even higher.
Actually ASUS is launching two variants of this ROG Phone 3, the other one
being called the Strix Edition. The Strix Edition is slightly less powerful
than the vanilla variant. In here we are just looking at the processor
(Snapdragon 865+ vs Snapdragon 865) and network connectivity support (5G vs 4G
LTE), being the main difference between the two. The rest is relatively
the same, even in the design department.
Speaking of physical design, the ROG Phone 3 looks pretty much the same as its
predecessors with some minor changes and so are the accessories that comes
with it. But on the inside, it got tons of upgrades and new features on top of
those we loved from the first and second generation models.
The ASUS ROG Phone 3 sports 6.59-inch screen with AMOLED panel and 2340 x 1080
resolution. The fingerprint scanner is built right into the display. There is
also up to 144Hz refresh rate on this one, 120Hz, and 90Hz are also available
in case users feel like to switching every now and then or to save battery
life. Speaking of battery, it has a huge 6000mAh one with 30W Quick Charge 4.0
tech.
While this smartphone focuses more on the gaming side of things, ASUS still
managed to put in a really nice set of cameras. On the back is a triple rear
camera set up with 64MP primary shooter equipped with Sony IMX686 and then a
secondary 13MP ultrawide and tertiary 5MP depth camera sensors. On the front,
for selfie needs, is a 24MP shooter.
