Following the leaks last week, EA and Lucasfilm are officially announcing its
brand new and upcoming game based on the Star Wars universe called the Star
Wars: Squadrons. This announcement was made possible through the release of
the game's official trailer embedded above.
Star Wars: Squadrons is a first-person space combat game that will allow
players to fly famous ships in the Star Wars franchise such as the X-Wing,
A-Wing, Y-Wing, U-Wing, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, and TIE
Reaper while fighting other players in single or multiplayer modes. Players
can choose between the New Republic and Imperial Fleet teams.
The official gameplay won't be revealed until EA Play Live set to take place
this coming June 18. But so far we know that this game will have
cross-platform support between Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will
also be available with VR compatibility on PC and PS4 for a more immersive
gaming experience.
The Star Wars: Squadrons is officially priced at $39.99 and will be available
on the 2nd of October, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and PC. There is no word
yet if the game will have a PS5 and XBox Series X later this year or in the
future.
