It is no doubt that Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most awaited games of the year that is currently set to be released in November later...
Officially called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, this Netflix-produced series has
just been announced and is currently set to arrive in the streaming platform
sometime in 2022 with 10 episodes in tow. Set in the same futuristic dystopian
world of the game, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners follows a story of a street kid in a
technology-obsessed world which includes body modification trying to survive
by becoming "an edgerunner - a mercenary outlaw also known as a
cyberpunk."
The Cyberpunk: Edgerunner anime series will be helmed by director Hiroyuki
Imaishi and will be working together with Studio Trigger for the aesthetics of
the series. If many are familiar and loved some of the works of this studio
such as Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia, looks like we are also going
to like this next project of theirs.
This is actually not the first time Netflix is developing a series based on
video games, Castlevania and of course The Witcher is just two of the most
fantastic ones they have produced so far. That said, I have faith in this one
and I am just excited. But yeah, it's coming in 2022.
In addition to the anime series announcement, CD Projekt Red also unleashed a
brand new Cyberpunk 2077 game trailer which you can watch below.
