35 million strong
It's no doubt that Realme has been one of the most successful smartphone
brands in the world despite being too relatively young in the global
smartphone scene. Today, the company has just revealed a major milestone since
becoming an independent brand in 2018. According to the brand, there are now a
total of 35 million Realme users worldwide. 10 million of those units were
sold just in the last four months.
Now in the top 7 global smartphone ranking
Based on Counterpoint's top list of smartphones in the world, Realme takes the
7th place, thanks to the continuously growing demand for Realme products
around the globe. In the Q3 2019 report of Counterpoint's Smartphone Shipment
Market Share, it showed that Realme became the top 7 global smartphone brand
for the first time. Realme's global smartphone shipments increased by 157%
year-on-year versus its shipments in Q1 2019. The report also added that
Realme was able to maintain this ranking even until Q1 2020 despite seeing an
industry-wide year-on-year decline of 13% in Q1 2020.
Since two years ago, Realme has entered a total of 27 markets worldwide
including China, Europe, India, South and Southeast Asia, Russia, and Africa.
The brand has ranked among the top five smartphone brands in multiple markets.
In the Philippines Realme takes the fourth place with an impressive growth
rate of 709%.
What's next for Realme?
In 2020, the brand will continue to focus on its young users, for both of its
smartphone and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) lineup. As the brand
aims to be a tech lifestyle trendsetter for the youth, it will be employing
the realme 1+1 strategy: Smartphone + AIoT. Realme will be focused on
developing trendsetting design and technology to further strengthen its very
own ecosystem.
As Realme dares to leap into the AIoT field with its expanded lineup of
offerings, it positions itself to becoming not only the world's fastest
growing smartphone brand but also world's fastest growing AIoT company as
well.
That said, expect more smartphone and connected device offerings from Realme
starting this year and moving forward. So far, the brand has released the
Realme Buds Air and Realme Wireless which according to the company have sold
one million units, the Realme Band (read hands-on review here), and in the coming days the brand will also launch
smartTV and smartwatch
products.
So yes this is exciting not just for Realme itself but also for its fans
around the globe.
