New midrange contenders from Honor
Huawei's sub-brand has launched two new midrange smartphones in China under the monikers Honor Play 4T and Honor Play 4T Pro. The former has punch-hole cutout on the upper left corner of the screen while the latter has u-shaped notch right in the middle. And in terms of rear cameras, the non-Pro variant has dual setup whereas the Pro has triple, both are equipped with 48MP primary camera and are AI-assisted.For some reason, the Honor Play 4T is running on the latest Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1 on top but the more high-end version, the Honor Play 4T Pro only has Android 9 Pie with Magic UI 2.1. And at this moment, there is no mention of the Pro model to be updated to the latest OS version at a later date. Hopefully, when it arrives in the Philippines, assuming it will, it will be equipped with the most recent operating system.
Both phones have fingerprint sensor, the 4T has the traditional one while the 4T Pro has it integrated right in the display thanks to its OLED display panel. Battery-wise, the two have the same 4000mAh. Only the Pro has the much better and faster 22.5W charger.

Pricing and availability
In China, the 6GB+128GB variant of Honor Play 4T Pro is priced at CNY 1,499 (Php10,800), while the its 8GB+128GB model is for CNY 1,699 (Php12,300). The Honor Play 4T with 6GB+128GB is going to be for CNY 1,199 (Php8,700). Both devices will be available in the Chinese market starting this month of April.As for the smartphones' global launch, no words have been released yet.
