Xiaomi Mi 9 Now Officially Launched With Triple Rear Camera and Snapdragon 855

After tons of leaks, speculations from the rumor mill, and unofficial confirmations coming from the company itself in the last few weeks, Xiaomi has finally and officially launched the much anticipated Mi 9 smartphone, its most powerful Android smartphone yet mounted with the latest Snapdragon 855 processor right out of the box.

One of this phone's main highlights are the cameras. It has three cameras on the back and a 20MP selfie shooter situated in the dewdrop-like notch on the front. The main camera on the back is pegged at 48MP with Sony IMX586 sensor and Quad Bayer filter, then there's a 16MP ultrawide angle shooter, and a third 12MP telephoto lens equipped with 2x optical zoom.

Under its 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display lies a fingerprint scanner that Xiaomi claims to be one of the fastest in-display print scanners to date. It has a 19:9 aspect ratio and a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protecting the entire screen. In terms of memory and storage, there will be two configurations, one in 6GB + 128GB and another in 8GB + 128GB. The third variant called Mi 9 Transparent will have highest at 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. All models don't support microSD card for storage expansion as well a 3.5mm audio jack.

And as for its software, Xiaomi equips this Mi 9 with the latest Android 9 Pie and EMUI 10 right off the bat. And then a 3300mAh battery that supports fast charge and wireless charging technologies.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 is currently officially unveiled in China, but will soon be introduced to the world at next week's Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona Spain. That said, international pricing has not been revealed yet. However in China, the 6GB/128GB is priced CNY 2,999 (Php23,000), CNY 3,299 (Php25,500) for the 8GB/128GB version, and CNY 3,999 (Php30,900) for the Transparent Edition.
