Netflix Philippines now offer weekly subscription payment scheme. Read more here.
I do not know how long it has been going on, but very recently, I noticed
something new and something I have never heard before about Netflix subscription
payment scheme. At least here in the Philippines, I assume, Filipino Netflix
streamers can now subscribe to the platform on a weekly basis across all
tiers.
As you can see in the images above, there are still three types of subscriptions to choose from. Which are the same tiers as the monthly plans. There's Basic for Php99, Standard for Php119, and Premium for Php139 per week.
It appears this is the default plans for subscribing to Netflix as these are the only options I could see when renewing my Netflix using my phone. I was actually looking for the monthly plans, but for some reason I could not find it using my smartphone. So are the monthly plans now gone? Well not really, because when I tried to access my Netflix account on the desktop, there I can still see and select the monthly subscriptions. See below.
We still have the same tiers and the monthly prices remain the same starting at Php370.
While the monthly payment is the best and more practical choice when signing up for a Netflix subscription, weekly plan is also a good idea if you are on a more tight budget and if you don't watch that much and do not have so much time in hand. Weekly subscription I think is also good for binge watching, whether that's a new series or all the new content since the last time you subscribed, weekly plans is a good idea.
What's more is, like in the monthly scheme, you can still cancel your subscription anytime you want without incurring any penalty fee and you can subscribe back anytime as well for the same fee.
So if you have been wanting to try Netflix but the monthly fee is a bit stiff for your budget, perhaps this weekly thing will get you started without hurting your pocket. You may want to try it now and see what's in there for you, plus you can also try their service for free for 30 days if it's your first time signing up.
