Filipino graphic novel "Trese" is heading to Netflix as an animated series in 2019. Read more here.
Netflix has made an announcement today that will definitely make a lot of Pinoy fans and subscribers super excited. The event took place in Singapore and according to official reports, the streaming giant is currently working on a few animated original series such as the Pacific Rim, Altered Carbon, and of course our very own "Trese" which is an award winning Filipino graphic novel.
Trese is a graphic novel created by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldissino. Its main protagonist is named Alexandra Trese who is a detective investigating real-world crimes in Metro Manila that are being orchestrated by or involved with supernatural beings from the underworld like aswang, tikbalang, kapre, and more.
The Trese animated series on Netflix will be produced by Shanty Harmayn and Tanya Yuson from BASE Entertainment a Jakarta and Indonesia-based studio.
For now this is the only details we know that has been released by Netflix. Not even a target release date was unveiled. But most likely, it will be sometime next year.
