Japanese manga based on Jose Rizal's life is now available online for free, just in time for the Philippines' national hero's 157th birthday. Read more here.
Today we celebrate Jose Rizal's 157th birthday and coinciding with this event, a Japanese comic based on the life of our national hero is being released online for all to see and read free of charge, thanks to Takuro Ando, the TORICO company representative, who got inspired in creating the manga after initially seeing a statue of Rizal in Tokyo, Japan .
The publisher said this manga, titled Jose Rizal, will have a total of 100 pages. And the first few pages are released online starting today with the rest of the chapters to be released every Tuesday. At launch, the manga will be available in English and Japanese language, a Filipino version is also planned to be made available sometime in the future according to CNN Philippines.
Takahiro Matsui was tasked to develop the story line while it was Ryo Konno for the illustration.
