Waiting for a movie adaptation that promises a lot of potentials and cool things, just like its source material, is nothing but frustrating most of the time. Ready Player One movie, for example, is one of those movie adaptations I excitedly wait to be released in the Philippines this year. To be honest, I really did not know this particular franchise existed until I saw the very first trailer released last year, and I only got interested in this one mainly because of its two main premises, virtual reality and tons of popular culture references. That being said, I made a little research on the material and found out that this film is based on Ernest Cline's novel of the same name originally published in 2011. Since then, my excitement for this movie went even higher.
Thankfully though, while I wait for the official release of Ready Player One movie later this month in many parts of the world, a British band called Gunship just released a brand new song and music video titled "Art3mis & Parzival" inspired by Ready Player One all told in 8-bit format.
This music video is titled "Art3mis & Parzival" and starts with a short explanation of what the world is now like in the year 2044.
Watch it below and try to catch as many popular references as you can.
In case you have not seen the trailer yet, below is the most recent one.
Ready Player One is directed by Steven Spielberg and is set to open in the Philippines on March 31, 2018.

"The year is 2044. The world is failing. Society is locked in severe decline. The youth have one escape: A VR world known as the OASIS. A contest for control of this virtual paradise has just begun. Corporate power IOI exploits its reach in order to secure victory and seize humanity's new realm of existence. Thousands of miles separate their true challengers."
