Epic Games developer has announced through a blog post that their highly successful free-to-play multiplayer game Fortnite Battle Royale game on PC, Mac, Play Station 4, and Xbox One, is now also coming to iOS and Android mobile platforms.
The iOS and Android smartphone and tablet users will very soon be able to play the game on their devices. Epic Games said that this version of Fortnire Battle Royale will be the same one many players around the world love, it's going to be "the same 100-player game... same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates."
The company added that starting Monday, March 12, iOS users can start signing up for the Invite Event. Yes you read that right, currently the mobile iteration is on an invite-only basis, while Android support will be coming in the next few months.
Interested iOS users can sign up on www.fortnite.com. Chosen invitees will receive emails to download the game from the App Store. For now, it appears that only limited number of users will receive the invite, but Epic Games assures that more invites will role out in the coming months.
What's unique about this particular release is mobile players will also have the opportunity to cross-play and cross-progress with the PC, Mac, and Play Station 4, and eventually with the Android version in the future. This simply means you can play and keep the same progress across these platforms as well as play with other players between these systems, anytime and anywhere.
Unfortunately, Xbox One not mentioned in the list.
If you own at least one of these iOS devices (or higher), you can run the game smoothly.
iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, and iPad 2017, all should be at least on iOS 11 version.
