In celebration of (RED) and Apple's 10 years of partnership, Apple has just made a slightly surprising announcement today through a press release. The Cupertino based tech company unveiled the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition. This new edition sports a very unique color option among all the iPhone devices so far, it is in red and still encased in an aluminum unibody design.
According to Apple, users who will buy this special edition will be given an "unprecedented way to contribute to the Global Fund and bring the world a step closer to an AIDS-free generation." The company also further revealed that these PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be available to order online worldwide beginning March 24, 2017.
Aside from the color, there is nothing more new on these iPhone 7 and 7 Plus editions. It's still the same most advanced iPhones to date. The iOS smartphones will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants and prices start at $749 online. It will be released worldwide too, more than 40 countries will get it as per Apple's announcement. Through the Philippines was not mentioned in the list of countries to get it in March, Apple said other markets will follow in April."Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today's lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
