LG G6 Has Finally Been Launched, Sporting an Expansive Display (18:9 aspect ratio)

Coming straight from the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the South Korean electronics giant, LG, has finally and officially launched its newest flagship smartphone for 2017. The much talked about and awaited LG G6 is formally introduced. What's so unique about this phone this time around? First off, it does not sport modular design anymore found on last year's G5 offering, secondly and most of all, is boasts an 18:9 aspect ratio - taller or wider display with the same front panel size. They wanted to create a phone with big display but still operable using only one hand.

Comparing the LG G6 to its predecessors of the recent years, this latest installment to the G series has improved a lot not just on the outside appearance but also on the inside, though we wished this one was powered by the newest Snapdragon 835 processor (which is kind of hard to come by at the moment) instead of the Snapdragon 821. Don't get me wrong, the 821 is still a great processor out there today. But apart from the chip, the rest of the specs are pretty much what we need in a flagship smartphone of today's standards.

The LG G6 is all enclosed in glass and metal case combination. The front panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, the dual 13MP camera lenses on the back are layered with Gorilla Glass 4 and the entire back panel is Gorilla Glass 5 protected according to a hands on video from The Verge. Combine that with the thinness of its profile and its design language, overall the LG G6 is a stunner both in the hands and in the eyes.

The phone's 5.7-inch display is offered with 2880 x 1440 resolution and its screen curved just like many other mid-tier and flagship smartphones today. The RAM on this one is at 4GB in size with either 32Gb or 64GB alongside it. Of course having this gorgeous of a smartphone, that default storage is definitely not enough, thankfully it is still capable of holding microSD card for additional space. How much space? Up to 2TB. I don't think this microSD card size already exists, but when it does it should be working fine with LG G6. In other worlds, every microSD card around regardless of size, is compatible with this device.
