Acer Switch Alpha 12 Detachable Notebook Features its Own Liquid-Cooling Tech

Acer just released their own liquid-cooled laptop in the guise of Switch Alpha 12.

When thinking about a liquid-cooled laptop, the first thing that will probably come to mind is the monster gaming rig Asus ROG GX700 Windows 10-powered laptop bearing a price tag as hefty as Php249,995. You can read more about it here as to why it carries that crazy quarter-of-a-million-peso sticker. But that may change now as one of its PC-maker rivals Acer has just launched their own version of a device that has a built-in liquid-cooling system that won't hurt bank accounts and pockets, that's the Switch Alpha 12, a detachable 12-inch laptop running on the latest Windows 10 OS.

Acer calls its liquid-cooling tech LiquidLoop. It is a cooling solution and system in a closed loop that is being powered by the heat that is generated by the device itselft when being used. Apart from being liquid-cooled, it is also a fanless hybrid laptop and according to Acer, the Switch Alpha 12 is a first of its kind to be powered by Intel's Skylake  6th-generation Core processors up to i7.

It's not a gaming laptop though as oppose to the ROG GX700, the main purpose of LiquidLoop system in addition to keeping the whole machine's temperature low is to accommodate the removal of built-in fans to make the device even much thinner and to completely avoid fan noise which is a common problem to most PCs and laptops.

This 2-in-1 fanless notebook is offered with a detachable keyboard and has its own kickstand attached to it that is capable of different angles for viewing preferences. And as you may have already guessed, the Switch Alpha 12 sports a 12-inch screen bearing a 2160 x 1440 resolution which really sounds very clear and vivid in terms of display quality.


The Acer Switch Alpha 12 is scheduled to be released in the US this coming June for price starting at $599.
