We all know that the current director, Joss Whedon, behind the first Avengers movie and the upcoming one (Age of Ultron) is about to step down after the Avengers 2 is finished showing around the globe starting this late April. We also aware that this is not the last Avengers film we are going to see in the coming years, in fact Marvel had officially announced last year their MCU Phase 3 movie line up and it includes not one but two Avengers movies.
Avengers Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 are currently scheduled to be released in May 2018 and May 2019 respectively. According to a report on Badass Digest as per their source, Marvel has just found its directors for the said installments and they are Joe and Anthony Russo also known as the Russo Brothers. So why this is a good news for Marvel fans out there now that Joss Whedon is not coming back anymore for the third and fourth Avengers movie? Well they were the men behind the Captain America: The Winter Soldier and they are also to direct the next Captain America: Civil War which filming is to start in the coming weeks. Whether we accept it or not, the latest Captain America movie is one of the best Marvel films we have seen next to the Guardians of the Galaxy, so having these duo for the biggest films of the MCU is just a great news to hear.
Badass Digest's Devin Faraci added that Marvel is also in talks with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely to write for the two films. These are the same writers who wrote all three Captain America films, did work on Thor: The Dark World and lent some help on Agent Carter TV series. Everybody is just waiting a final and official announcement from Marvel about this.
Additionally the Part 1 and Part 2 of Infinity War will shoot back-to-back in 2016 and 2017. It's like a massive and long production process. We also expect this two to be one of the biggest or probably the biggest installments of all since a lot of new and upcoming superheroes and other characters will have been revealed by this time to face the threats of Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet. We just can't wait. : )
