Smart Free Internet Promo Extended until February 28, Video Streaming Added

Smart Communications Inc is again extending the free internet promo until Feb 28.

Just in case you have forgotten, Smart free internet promo is only good until today after it was extended on January 5 for one full month but that's okay not to remember it. Actually Smart Communications just announced that they are yet again extending the promo until the end of the month which is Feb 28, 2015.

The promo is still good for all of the company's 69 million subscribers around the country. But there is a twist to the promo, video streaming is now included.

“We are excited to expand the Smart Free Internet promo to include video streaming, since we all know how much Filipinos enjoy watching videos online,” said Charles A. Lim, executive vice president and head of Wireless Consumer Business of both Smart Communications and Sun Cellular.

Smart prepaid and postpaid, Talk N Text and Sun Cellular Subscribers are still eligible to the free 30MB per day worth of internet and free unlimited Facebook access. Sad to say the video streaming will still be counted against the 30MB allocation unlike the free Facebook which is on top of the 30MB.

Still, accessing VOIP apps such as  FaceTime, Skype Viber and other messaging apps like KakaoTalk, Line and WhatsApp are not part of the promo. If you want to use these apps regular data fee will be applied.
