Cherry Mobile announced the Excalibur smartphone sporting an Octa-core processor and HD display. See specs and pricing here.
One of the things I like about the Excalibur, aside from its name, octa-core processor and HD display, is the design. It looks very simple yet sleek in looks especially knowing that the front and back panels are protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. Inside are a MediaTek chip clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB of RAM and a much bigger 8GB internal storage compared to other smartphones under the same price tag. Users can have external storage device via microSD card up to 32GB.
For picture and selfie taking sessions there are 8MP rear camera with Sony IMX179 lens and a front facing snapper at 5MP. Those are big enough to capture great photos, videos and of course selfie pics. Like other smartphones from the local scene, the CM Excalibur is has dual-sim and dual-standby capability, there is also the 3G support and the usual connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and A-GPS. If there is a single let down that I can see here right away, that would be the battery which is only pegged at 1980mAh.
