Cherry Mobile announced the Omega Icon featuring a pleather-covered back panel. See specs and pricing here.
Cherry Mobile made another record again for being "the first" as it unveiled the Omega Icon smartphone. What makes it being "the first"? If you have noticed the picture above, the back panel of the device is pleather covered. The same covering we see on Galaxy Note 3, other high-end Galaxy devices and even on Samsung Chromebook 2. On its front side is a 5-inch HD IPS display which is protected by a Dragontrail Glass. Those are some of the things I like about this new Cherry Mobile device.
It is an Android 4.3 Jellybean smartphone powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon processor. For multitasking purposes, users are supported with 1GB of RAM plus a 4GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. Cameras on this Cherry Mobile Omega Icon are also very impressive as they come in 13MP and 5MP cameras for back and front sides respectively. Both cameras have LED flash. And then there is the now-common dual-SIM and dual-standby functionality.

The Cherry Mobile Omega Icon will be retailed for only Php6,499. However, Cherry Mobile has not revealed yet the battery size of the Omega Icon. Hopefully its battery will be bigger than MyPhone Agua Rio which features a 2,000mAh battery. Rio is MyPhone's current best selling smartphone for only Php4,999 and this one offers the same screen size as this Omega Icon with HD 720p display as well.
