Cherry Mobile is readying a roll out to update some of its smartphones to the Android Kitkat OS.
Do you own a Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z2 or a Cherry Mobile Omega Spectrum? If you do then there is a good news for you coming from Cherry Mobile itself through their Facebook page, they will "soon" be rolling out Android Kitkat updates to atleast these two smartphones here and to some other Cherry Mobile devices in the near future provided that these ones support the newest mobile operating system from Google. The demo video below was posted by Cherry Mobile on Facebook showing those two smartphones running the Kitkat OS.

As far as I remember, Android Kitkat is not really meant for high-end devices but it is also to run smoothly even on entry level smartphones with at least 512MB RAM. Let's wait for further updates from Cherry Mobile and let's hope that more of their devices will receive this "Chocolate-y update" from this company. This really makes me happy to hear that local smartphone and tablet company like Cherry Mobile is doing steps like this where they start to work on releasing software updates for some of their phones that have been released and sold, unlike before which basically never happened. Even MyPhone did release an over-the-air software update for its MyPhone Rio smartphone when many early adopters realized that they were not able to download and install apps directly to microSD card, MyPhone fixed it.
