Samsung is rumored to unveil a new Galaxy S5 variant a possible iPhone 6 competitor later this year.
Samsung is rumored to launch a new Galaxy S5 variant which is reported to sport higher specs that of the current flagship device. Reports suggest that the Korean electronics company is expected to unveil and release the device in the latter part of the year. Everybody is calling this device, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime.
According to rumors, the Galaxy S5 Prime with model number SM-G906S will sport a 2k display which would be equivalent to 2560x1440 resolution in its 5.2-inch display. RAM is also said to be upgraded to 3GB along with a 32GB right-out-of-the-box internal storage. Plus a Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor is in the reports. And one of the most exciting, if true, is that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will be enclosed in a aluminum unibody chassis.
It must be noted that Samsung has denied that they are working on such device to compete with iPhone 6 later this year, but rumors and leaks are keep on pouring which could mean otherwise. It's just April and a lot of things may still change but I also have a feeling that this Galaxy S5 Prime is going to be a real device especially looking at what Samsung did with their Galaxy S4 variant which had so many other versions that followed it. It may also just a rumor and Samsung might be working on a new and completely different device, who knows.
