Lav Diaz's Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan will be shown at select Ayala Mall in Manila and Cebu.
"Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan" starring Sid Lucero, Angeli Bayani and Archie Alemanya is finally getting a special screenings in select Ayala Malls in Manila and in Cebu this March. This movie was cited as one of the top ten (9th) movies of 2013 by British Film Institute's Sight and Sound and 6th by La Internacional Cinefila. It premiered last year at Cannes International Film Festival and it became the festival's second best-reviewed film.
Special screenings in select Ayala Malls Cinemas are scheduled for March 11 (Trinoma), March 18 (Cebu), March 25 (Greenbelt 3) and March 31 (Glorietta 4). All screenings begin at 6:30 PM. You would not believe that the entire "Norte" movie is a 4-hour long film that was shown at the Cannes International Film Festival about 10 moths ago. At first www.interaksyon.com reported that the Lav Diaz's directed movie struggled to get local release but few days later the website reported that the pic got slots in Ayala Malls for showing.
I live in Davao and I really like to see this film even though it is that long because many of the film critics abroad liked it too when they saw the whole picture and that's the reason why I wanna see this film as well to see what they saw. I hope it will still get its way here especially at Abreeza Mall which is an Ayala Mall that I know of here in Davao City.
