Warner Bros' Superman vs Batman movie has surprisingly pushed back to a 2016 release.
When this movie was announced last year at the Comic Con 2013, it became one of the epic movies I anticipate to see this coming 2015. But today, there's a breaking news that emerged online as Warner Bros announced that they have decided to move the showing date of the Superman-Batman film to May of 2016 instead of the original announced date of July 2015. That's is kinda disappointing, right?
Of course the first question that came up to mind and I think many fans out there also share the same question with me. Why? Why on earth this was changed so surprisingly? The studios' reason is to "“allow the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story,” according to TheWrap or as what the company told them. This date-change was also made due to the shift of the start of production which was moved to the second quarter of the year instead of Spring.
Since the July 2015 date is reserved for Warner Bros, there is still one of their upcoming movies to take that place and it is an untitled Peter Pan live action film. Now since that we won't be seeing this unprecedented event in the film industry where Batman and Superman are going to be in one motion picture with big budget and a large base of "waiters", this means that we also have to adjust our expectation to see the Justice League movie for at least another year. Now that they asked for more time to develop the pic, they cannot blame fans to expect more from the adaptation. They really have to justify that the time to create this super franchise film is worth the wait. Right now we know that Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman or Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as the Batman or Bruce Wayne and Gal Gadot as The Wonder Woman. Plus there are rumors that other DC superheroes may have an appearance in this movie, and this is one of the reason I think WB has. What do you thing of this sudden announcement and move? Do you think it is a bright idea since there are also a lot of big titles to be shown in 2015? In case you are not aware of, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars Episode 7, Terminator: Genesis is to name a few.
