Sony Announces Xperia T2 Ultra Android Phablet

Sony Electronics just announced two new Android phablets aiming for an international release, meet the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual. Both phablet sport the same specs apart from the T2 Ultra Dual's support for two sim card slots. Both devices measure 6-inch and will have HD TRILUMINOS Display along with BRAVIA Engine 2 for mobile with resolution pegged at 1080x720p.

These two phablets will be powered by Android 4.3 Jellybean and under the hood is a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor paired with a 1GB of RAM. The internal storage is not that big with only 8GB but the good thing is it is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. As you may notice, this is not a super high end phablet and this could be one the most affordable one you will be able to find in the market with a "name". Unlike the Z1 which is waterproof, this one is not as it is covered in aluminum and plastic chassis in combination, maybe because to keep the cost of the device more affordable. So no dust proof and no waterproof.

Definitely this Xperia T2 Ultra and the T2 Ultra Dual devices are not the type of gadgets that will easily be ignored as these offer specs and features that many will most probably like. On the back there is a 13-megapixel rear camera and then the front one at 1.1MP, these two snappers sport Exmor RS and Exmor R for mobile technology to help the device work perfectly fine in low-light environment when taking photos or videos.

This LTE and NFC supported Android device packs a 3,000mAh battery and that battery has a feature which Sony calls Battery STAMINA mode.

Although I mentioned that this could be an affordable phablet, Sony has yet to announce the pricing and availability of the device. But according to the Japanese company, this device should be released in "many major markets" this quarter. Sony also said that this device is designed for users in China, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, so that means we'll have it.
