Now, since we know that Paul Walker together with Vin Diesel was currently shooting for the upcoming Fast and Furious 7 film, my question is what's gonna happen now to this FF7? Are they going to abandon the franchise? Or simply move forward and just continue with the story without Walker's character or will find someone who will take his place?
The first thing I thought, was of course was to continue with the shooting and then just rewrite the rest of the unshot scenes removing Walker's character (Brian O'Conner) out of the picture. Another thing on my mind was to reshoot everything (which in unlikely to happen) and get another actor for the character just like what happened to Albus Dumbledore's actor in Harry Potter movies and in Spartacus TV series' lead actor.
The Fast and Furious 7 is scheduled for release in July 2014, but as of the moment according to movie blogs, the production is being delayed indefinitely while director James Wan is currently having a meeting with the producers to see how they would proceed with the film now that one of the movie's lead actor is gone. The Hollywood Reporter said that on Sunday morning, James Wan had a meeting with Universal executives and discussed the fate of the film and also how to proceed in a manner that would be respectful to Walker's death.
Now that the production has been delayed, it is likely to happen that the release date will be moved forward as well. As of now we are still waiting as to what is going to happen with the franchise. But I think it is definitely not to be scrapped although we cannot hide that fact that Paul Walker's passing leaves a big hole not just in the Fast and Furious movie itself but also in the whole industry. I can't imagine seeing the movie again with another actor playing Brian O'Conner, Walker was just very good at playing the role.
