The 2014 Robocop movie has debuted its first official trailer online. See it here.
In case you are not aware of, the 1980s' RoboCop has just been remade for early next year's release. And the good thing about it is Columbia Pictures just debuted online the very first trailer for director Paul Padilha's RoboCop movie. The official poster was released too. Read on for full trailer after the jump.
I know since a couple of months back that the new RoboCop film is being created but what I did not know was that the trailer was about to be unveiled, and it's here.
I happened to see the original films of the police robot back in the days which I really admired since then, I thought that would be the coolest movie I would ever see but here we are today, we are being bombarded with high profile, awesome and top grosser films. For every new version of each film we anticipate that new design of costumes would be sported and I really expected it in this reboot version of RoboCop. Although there are changes in the robot suit to make it more modern and high end look, it is still not far away from the original. It's like seeing iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 side by side, at least to me. The trailer looks promising and this makes me something that I would want to see in the silver screen in 2014. Because superhero movies are selling like hotcakes nowadays, it's not really surprising why superhero movies of the past are coming back to the big screen with makeover treatment and new actors on board.
Here is the full synopsis:
"In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice."
