In a recent press release sent out by Apple, it said that applications in their App Store have been downloaded 40 billion times since the online store went live in 2008.
20 billions of those app downloads were made in 2012 alone including the record-breaking 2 billion downloads in December of last year.
The Cupertino, California based tech company also added that currently there are 500,000 active users in the App Store enjoying the 775,000 available applications for its iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices.
With those figures Tim Cook-lead company unveiled, they added that Apple has paid around $7 billion to their app developers.
