Aug 25, 2012, the date Smart LTE (Long-Term Evolution) was officially launched. As what we have been expecting, aside from the confirmation of Php3,500 monthly fee and 10GB data allowance, additional
information was given and it did answer my questions from my previous post about this new technology and service.
The official launch event was at the Resorts World. Unfortunately, I was not able to see it personally. According to Smart's tweets on my Twitter feed yesterday, a lot of media people, bloggers and celebrities were at the event.
Below is the list of additional confirmed information by a tech blog I usually visit, YugaTech.com.
Well based on those details, I guess the speed won't get affected after consuming 10GB. And since it is not mentioned, not even in other websites nor Smart's site, you will still use your 10GB Data even if you are in places where LTE is not available.
One of the early treats we get from Smart, if we subscribe today, we can enjoy the declared 42mbps speed unlimitedly until Oct 25. So download whatever we need to while promo lasts.
Am I going to get Smart LTE plan? Like what I usually do when there is new gadget or service being offered, I observe first. I check what current users are saying about it, then I decide if I will get one.
